In June 1985 Les Harper returned from National Chartered
Accounting Practice of Romanis Harper and commenced his own practice in
Frankston as "L.I. Harper & Associates". In the
first few months, supported by Patty, his wife, he worked from the
dinning room table while an office extension was built onto the family
room.
Within six months the "home office" was filled to
overcrowding with five staff. A house was purchased in Frankston from
which the business was conducted and to provide space.
Another move was needed by 1990 as staff had grown to
eight.
Unit 3, 506 Nepean Highway was purchased in 1990 and
has been the house of Harper Group Pty Ltd since.
From humble beginnings in 1985, a flourishing practice
has developed servicing clients all around Australia.
In July 2004 Mathew Boyes joined Les as a Director in
the newly incorporated Harper Group Pty Ltd.
At this time if was providing advice in accounting,
taxation, business development and financial planning. Insolvency
continued to be provided by L.I. Harper & Associates.
Harper Financial Group Pty Ltd was incorporated in
July 2007. A licence to provide financial services was issued by ASIC on
that date, enabling us to provide unencumbered services to our clients,
on an "agreed fee" basis. No commissions, brokerage, trials or other
benefits are taken. Nor do we have allegiance to any Bank or Insurance
house or other financial service provider.
Our clients can be assured of receiving truly
untainted advice, at a fixed fee representing value for service.
We have many long term loyal staff, including Maree
Ferguson who joined us in 1986 and is a highly valued member.
Mathew Boyes joined the practice in 1996 and has
developed into a highly skilled well liked professional.
We have enjoyed our journey since 1985 and are proud
of the contribution we have made to our clients, to other areas such as
East Timor and to ourselves.
